"Take this picture of the Blessed Mother and give it a place of honor in your home. Then your home will become a little shrine in which the picture of grace will mediate many graces, create a holy family atmosphere, and form holy family members."

- Father Joseph Kentenich
  Founder of Schoenstatt

Our 2012-2013 Motto: "Your Home Shrine, Our Mission - Live It!"

2013 Calendar of Events

Schoenstatt is a Catholic lay movement that strives to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the example and guidance of Mary, the mother of God.  Schoenstatt was founded on October 18,1914 by Father Joseph Kentenich in the little Schoenstatt valley in the Rhine region of west-central Germany.  The word Schoenstatt comes from the German for "beautiful" (schon) and "place" (statt).

Fr Kentenich lived in Milwaukee between 1951-1965.  Wisconsin has a rich and vibrant history within the Schoenstatt movement.

Home Shrine Album Project
Gift for the 100th Jubilee of Schoenstatt
Dear Schoenstatters:
As many of you are by now aware, the home shrine has been designated as the gift from the United States Schoenstatt Family for the 100th Jubilee of Schoenstatt in 2014.
As a physical sign of this gift, the Home Shrine Jubilee Commission has requested that a Home Shrine Album be created. This album will contain pictures and descriptions of home shrines throughout the United States, and will be brought to Schoenstatt, Germany in 2014 as a representation of the gift of our life with and in the home shrine.
The Home Shrine Jubilee Commission would like to have this album completed for the Home Shrine Conference in June of 2013.
Linked below are instructions and forms for submitting your home shrine for inclusion in the album.  We look forward to seeing your shrine!
